Purpose of Doing Projects at EPDA

At the Environmental Protection and Development Association (EPDA), our projects are designed to address critical challenges faced by communities in Cameroon. The purpose of our initiatives is multi-faceted, focusing on sustainable development, environmental conservation, and community empowerment. Here are the key purposes behind our projects:

Promote Sustainable Development

By implementing initiatives in agriculture, water management, and community development, we help create resilient systems that support both people and the planet.

Enhance Food Security

Our agricultural projects focus on improving farming techniques, increasing crop yields, and promoting sustainable practices.

Empower Local Communities

Our projects involve training and capacity building, enabling community members to acquire skills and knowledge that enhance their resilience and self-sufficiency.

Improve Public Health

Our WASH projects aim to reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases and improve overall public health by providing sustainable solutions for clean water access and sanitation facilities.

Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

Impact: Over the past five years, this initiative has served more than 50,000 Cameroonians by building boreholes, wells, and eco-friendly toilets, while promoting hygiene education to prevent water-borne diseases.

Environment and Natural Resources Management (ENRM)

Impact for ENRM: EPDA's program in Cameroon enhances community and environmental awareness, promotes climate and conservation education, supports sustainable resource management, restores degraded lands, protects water catchments, boosts climate resilience, and advocates for policy collaboration

Agriculture and Food Security (AFS)

Impact: This program has supported over 25,000 farmers through training in sustainable agricultural practices, emergency food distribution, nutrition education, and market linkages, aiming to double this reach in the next five years.

The Environmental Protection and Development Association (EPDA) is dedicated to preserving nature while creating sustainable communities globally.
