About the Program
Climate change poses significant challenges to agriculture in Cameroon, leading to rising temperatures and erratic rainfall patterns that jeopardize food security and farmers’ livelihoods. The Environmental Protection and Development Association (EPDA) is dedicated to helping communities adapt to these environmental changes through our Climate Change Adaptation Program. We provide climate-smart agricultural training and establish village savings and loan schemes to help farmers diversify their income sources and build resilience against climate-related impacts.
Why We Are Doing It
As climate change continues to disrupt traditional farming practices, many farmers face the threat of reduced crop yields and increased vulnerability to food insecurity. EPDA’s program aims to equip farmers with the knowledge and tools they need to adapt their agricultural practices to changing conditions. By promoting climate-smart agriculture techniques and providing financial support through savings and loans, we aim to enhance community resilience while ensuring that farmers can sustain their livelihoods even in the face of climate challenges.
