Job Description: Mechanic Driver at EPDA Cameroon
Position: Mechanic Driver

Position Overview
EPDA is seeking a qualified Mechanic Driver to join our team. The Mechanic Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of project staff, equipment, and materials to designated sites. This role involves performing regular vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Transport Responsibilities:
Safely transport project staff, equipment, and materials to various locations as required.
Plan and follow optimal routes to ensure timely delivery of personnel and materials.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Perform regular safety checks on vehicles before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness.
Conduct basic maintenance and preliminary repairs on vehicles, detecting faults and addressing issues promptly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
Documentation and Compliance:
Ensure all necessary documentation is in order for transporting people and materials.
Adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations at all times.
Incident Management:
Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions immediately to the appropriate personnel.
Professional Development:
Participate in training sessions to upgrade driving and mechanical skills as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a driver, preferably in a similar role.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Excellent driving skills with the ability to operate various types of vehicles.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.
- Physical fitness to lift heavy goods when required.

Requirements

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental management and conservation.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and follow reporting procedures.
- Proficiency in data analysis and GIS mapping is an advantage.
