Job Opening: Agriculture and Food Security Specialist

The Environmental Protection and Development Association (EPDA) in Cameroon is hiring for the position of Agriculture and Food Security Specialist. This is a part-time role based in the North West and South West Regions.

About EPDA EPDA is a Cameroonian non-profit NGO established in 2010. Headquartered in Bonadikombo-Limbe, EPDA implements development and emergency programs across sectors like agriculture, WASH, environment, livelihoods, and capacity building. EPDA partners with UN agencies, international donors, and the Cameroonian government.

Position Overview The Agriculture and Food Security Specialist will contribute to designing programs that improve agricultural practices and food security. Key responsibilities include:

  • Research on agricultural trends, food production systems, market dynamics
  • Analyze data to identify challenges and opportunities
  • Implement policies/strategies for food security and sustainable agriculture
  • Train farmers and communities on modern techniques and enhancing food systems
  • Monitor and evaluate program impacts through data collection/analysis
  • Collaborate with stakeholders like government, NGOs, communities
  • Promote environmentally sustainable agricultural practices

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in food science, agriculture or related field
  • 3+ years experience in implementing/managing official food control activities
  • Ability to mobilize resources, meet deadlines, follow reporting procedures
