Job Opening: Mechanic Driver at EPDA Cameroon

The Environmental Protection and Development Association (EPDA) in Cameroon is hiring for the position of Mechanic Driver. This is a part-time role based in the North West and South West Regions.

About EPDA EPDA is a Cameroonian non-profit NGO established in 2010. Headquartered in Bonadikombo-Limbe, EPDA implements development programs across sectors like environment, agriculture, WASH, infrastructure, livelihoods, and capacity building. EPDA partners with national and international donors.

Position Overview The Mechanic Driver will be responsible for transporting project staff, equipment and materials to designated sites safely and on time. Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform regular safety checks on vehicles before and after trips
  • Plan and follow optimal routes for timely delivery
  • Ensure proper documentation is in order for transporting people/materials
  • Adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and perform basic maintenance on vehicles
  • Detect faults and conduct preliminary repairs
  • Report any incidents or accidents promptly
  • Participate in trainings to upgrade skills

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Driver
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics, maintenance, traffic laws
  • Excellent driving skills to operate various vehicle types
  • Good customer service and communication abilities
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently
  • Flexibility to work weekends/evenings as needed
  • Physical fitness to lift heavy goods when required
